I am so Grateful

I am so excited to share my brand new recording with you! It was a long labor and it is finally finished despite all the trials of these times we are living in. This is a mantra about gratitude and I hope that it helps you through any challenges you encounter!

This mantra is traditionally used for protection and to bring abundance. The first step in bringing prosperity into your life is gratitude, sometimes even in the midst of challenges or perceived scarcity. I was experiencing a challenging time in my life and I wrote the english verse as a gratitude practice to remind myself that every moment I have the opportunity to practice deep gratitude for being alive, for each breath, for each glorious precious heartbeat.

I began this project two years ago with the help of producer, Gian Berselli, whose beautiful vision got this out of my living room and into digital media form. From there it was handed to my husband, Jose Onate, who took it on another journey. Finally this track was handed back to me once I had gained the tools to record and produce it myself in my own kitchen. How to do it? Send the noisy munchkin out with his dad, then hit RECORD!

In the first iteration we had asked the amazing cellist, Jami Sieber, to play some instrumental solos for the track. When I got the original track back, I discovered I had cello material left unused. I set to work chopping and pasting, and created what has now become a duet between myself and Jami’s incredible cello voice. I sent Jami a very rough sketch of what I wanted and she re-recorded her parts and turned them into a Rembrandt!

During this time I had the wonderful serendipity to meet William Rossel while serving as an attendant at Osmosis Day Spa. We found we shared a love of Indian music and a connection to Chile! I sent William the finished track and he was able to add his thoughtful and delicate tabla to it! If I had not surrendered to the amount of time this track needed to be born, I would not have met William and this piece would be missing his beat.

Lastly, I got to work with Paul Lamb for the mixing of this track and he made all of our hard work sound sparkling and grand. He was a pleasure to work with and he was happy to impart his knowledge with me so that I can improve my recordings technique and budding producer skills!

from the heart of this recording to you:
I am so grateful
and I am so blessed
for all that I have been given
for ALL of this

Love,
Kiranjot
